The 2nd phase of the last edition of the Global Innovation Contest (GIC) ends today with the Award Ceremony for the new winners: there are 30 new winners, each of whom has been rewarded with financial support consisting of grants and recoverable advances of up to €3 million.
AThe Global Innovation Contest (CMI), which began on December 2, 2013, is financed by the Future Investment Program (PIA), managed by the General Secretariat for Investment and the General Directorate for Enterprises, and operated by BPI France. It is organized in three phases to support companies according to their maturity and to meet their needs:
- The 1st phase is a support for the start-up of very innovative projects;
- The 2nd phase allows to accompany companies in the development of their innovation;
- The 3rd phase is dedicated to supporting the most innovative projects in their industrialization and their large-scale marketing.
In view of the success of the CMI, several successive editions have been launched. The second phase of the last edition ends today with the Trophy Award Ceremony for the new laureates.
The Innovation 2030 Commission received 96 candidate projects. Project promoters have applied for the eight strategic ambitions selected by the Commission.
In total, the juries, composed of members of the Commission, representatives of the administrations concerned and independent experts, have selected 30 winners. They were each rewarded with financial support consisting of grants and recoverable advances of up to EUR 3 million.
According to the feedback from the winners, the CMI has been a tremendous lever for their development. They most often mention: the notoriety and recognition of the CMI label", "an attraction for highly qualified personnel", "an acceleration of sales and fund-raising" and "a real dynamic within the company". ".
The CMI was an opportunity to redefine the standards for public competitions in support of innovation. The first of its kind, the CMI is a competition of individuals that guarantees very quick and interactive selections.
