Great National Debate: What about culture in all this?

Start
From February 18 to March 15, 2019, Beaux Arts Magazine and the Fondation du patrimoine are launching a Grand Débat sur la Culture. To this end, a participative platform will be opened on the internet in order to put culture back at the heart of the citizen's debate, which is largely absent from the four themes of the Great National Debate launched on the initiative of the President of the Republic by the Government in December 2018.

I don't know a Frenchman whose life hasn't been touched in any way by culture. We all have at home the reproduction of a work we love, in our head and heart a book, a piece of music, a show, a monument, a museum that has fascinated us, marked us deeply. Culture is essential to us. Culture deserves a great debate for all of us and for everyone.
Frédéric Jousset, President of Beaux Arts & Cie

Culture and heritage are at the heart of today's debates. All over France, by reopening small museums, saving mills, laundries and theatres, we are creating jobs and activity in rural areas and town centres. We must stop neglecting this immense heritage which, far from the capitals, gives pride and interest to the France of the territories".
Guillaume Poitrinal, President of the Fondation du patrimoine

À At the initiative of the President of the Republic, the Government launched a major national debate in December 2018 on four themes. Culture was largely absent from this consultation.
Because culture should be at the heart of the citizens' debate, Beaux Arts Magazineand the Heritage Foundationwhich has been working since 1996 to safeguard and promote French heritage, are launching a major debate.
All French people are invited to share their proposals on cultural action in France. To encourage debate, the partners have identified three major national issues: culture for all, artistic and cultural education, and heritage.
Beyond these three themes, Internet users will have the opportunity to express themselves on all the other subjects that seem essential to them (support for creation, remuneration of artists, participative culture, operation of cultural facilities, etc.).

The opinions of the French will be collected on the consultative platform. www.granddebatculture.fr and at public meetings. Two meetings have already been organized by Beaux Arts and the Fondation du patrimoine, at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, the March 5, 2019 from 6:30 pm to 10 pm, and at the CentQuatre-Paris, on the 1March 0, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00.
All French people, cultural players, associations, foundations, theatres, art centres, museums, heritage sites, libraries, etc. are invited to organise debates. In the "Public Debates" section of the platform, they will be able to communicate the dates and places of these meetings and report on the discussions that will have taken place.

The results of this consultation will be submitted to the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron and the Minister of Culture Franck Riester in April. The report, which will also be made public on the website granddebatculture.frwill contain:
-The 10 most debated proposals;
-The 10 most supported proposals and the essential demands;
-A list of the most relevant and innovative proposals.

A summary of all the contributions that attempt to capture the diversity of the arguments will also be made public on the granddebatculture.fr platform. The contributions will be forwarded to the various decision-makers to whom they will be addressed (Ministry of Culture, Ministry of National Education and Youth, museum or theatre management, etc.).
