Finally, all authors have a real chance to be published! Since March 27th, Bookly Éditions, in partnership with Editions Prisma, has been working to discover new talent.
Just as it exists for music, comic books and books with My Major Company, Prisma Editions has joined forces with Bookly.fr, the participative publishing site. The publishing house, which is part of the Prisma Media group, is launching this publishing site, offering an author the opportunity to finance the publication of his manuscript thanks to the investments of "Internet supporters".
The principle is simple: authors propose their manuscript on Bookly.fr, and Internet users can consult the best pages. If the latter have a crush, they can support the project by investing from 10 to 500 euros. As soon as the €5,000 is reached, the book is published in ebook format on the main online sales platforms (Fnac.com, amazon, iBookstore, etc.) and from an additional €15,000, the paper book is co-published with Editions Prisma. The book benefits from a professional launch and national distribution in all sales outlets. The authors then receive a real remuneration, and Internet users-investors share 50 % of the net revenue in proportion to their contribution.
For Alexandre Billaud, co-founder of Bookly Editions, "There are 2.5 million people in France who have written manuscripts. Among them, we are convinced that there are authors of great talent and we want to discover them. It is extremely difficult for anonymous people to find a publishing house. Publishing houses are overwhelmed by the manuscripts they receive. They are unable to give the necessary time to consult all these projects. In the end, an author has less than a 1 in 1000 chance of being read by reading committees and published. Among the lucky ones, many are disappointed because small publishers rarely have the means to promote authors in the media or to ensure significant distribution of the book. Many authors therefore feel quite alone... Bookly wants to give them a real chance at last! »
For Pierre-Olivier Bonfillon, Director of Editions Prisma, "this original web to print project is a real bridge between Internet users and our traditional readers".

The My Major Company had launched a participative edition alongside Éditions XO. This led to the creation of My Major Company Books. But in the end it didn't work out very well. Let's wish this new initiative a better chance.
And they are already four authors to have chosen Bookly.fr :
- Evelyne Charnay, 59, is already a confirmed author. She has published two historical novels, several plays and collaborated in the writing of several television scripts. Her new manuscript, La Guerre aux Rois (The War of the Kings) plunges us into the middle of the battle of Valmy.
- Didier Pezant, 41, used to work in the media and recently decided to leave everything to live from his passion: writing. He has already published two novels and now offers us a science fiction novel set in 2158. While the world has been deeply shaken by climate change, a dictatorship has taken power in the Western world.
- Lucie Moore, 32, is a fantasy buff. This literary genre allows her to give free rein to her imagination. Prepare yourself for an immersion in her magical world that may remind some of you of David Edding or Robin Hobb. A queen has been poisoned. It's the beginning of a long quest for Klara, a young magician who goes in search of a plant that is essential to conceive the cure...
- Chris Nerwiss, 41 years old, offers us his fourth book. On this occasion, he renews with a universe where he excels: the detective novel. Two investigations intersect: a series of overdoses and assassinations in Paris may well have something in common... which will lead us on the trail of the former Khmer Rouge.
Now it's up to you... and why not bet on the author. To do so, go to www.bookly.fr !
