Here is a rather nice little device designed to measure the quality of the air we breathe in our interiors.
Gadget or real tool for better living?
It's not there to save you from bird flu, but the Bud breathing device is designed to warn you when the air quality is poor. The device, designed by Xinxin Wang and Zhi Chai, contains a vent at the base that draws in air to analyze its quality. If the air is clean, a blue light will glow. If the air is not healthy, a pink light appears. Bud Breathing is powered from the USB port on your computer.
The device will certainly be useful for people with breathing difficulties, but what are you supposed to do if the air quality is bad? Open the window? This will only make things worse if you live in a congested city. Perhaps the best solution is simply to invest in an air purifier that excludes germs and viruses.
