"I'm innovating in eco-technologies"

Start

The players in the J'Innove network in Nord-Pas de Calais are launching a new call for innovative projects: "I innovate in eco-technologies", led by the cd2e (Expert Centre for the emergence of eco-technologies) in partnership with the Team² competitiveness cluster, the Energy 2020 centre of excellence, the PRES (Research and Higher Education Cluster) Université Lille Nord de France, the APUI incubator and the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry..

This new call for projects is aimed at SMEs, creators of innovative eco-companies and laboratories in the field of environmental technologies. The winners will be personally accompanied by specialists until the realisation of their innovative idea. They will also be supported in the preparation of their financing applications, in particular for the regional innovation fund.

How to participate? You just have to describe your project online on the site www.jaiunprojetinnovant.com  until March 16, 2012.

This new call for projects focuses on the following six sectors: air, waste and recycling, water, eco-construction, renewable energies, sites, soils and sediments. It should be remembered that ecotechnology was explicitly formulated in the early 1960s by one of the founding fathers of industrial ecology, the American Howard Odum. It defines environmental technology as "the manipulation of the environment by humans using small amounts of additional energy to control systems in which the main energy flows continue to come from natural sources. »

Environmental technology is therefore based on three main concepts: the capacity of natural ecosystems to self-organise, ecosystem conservation and energy self-sufficiency: a modified ecosystem must function with the minimum external energy input, i.e. as much as possible from solar energy and its by-products, biomass. Today the concept of eco-technology is increasingly applied to new technologies in order to reduce their impact on the environment.

Already in 2011, France, through its Ministries of Ecology, Economy, and Industry and Energy, had launched a call for projects concerning eco-industries. The government thus wished to "support industrial research and development and innovation projects relating to eco-technologies, particularly in the field of prevention, measurement and control of local pollution (air, water, waste, etc.)". This call for projects was aimed at industries developing innovative products, processes or services that could be used to monitor the environment, combat pollution or preserve natural environments.

The winners will receive tailor-made support to turn their innovative idea into reality. In concrete terms, this means

* be supported by the actors of the environmental technologies network.

* to be accompanied in the drafting and definition of his project,

* benefit from the industrial, technological and scientific skills required to carry out their project,

* have tools for strategic, economic and competitive intelligence and industrial property attorneys, have easier access to public funding.

What are the selection criteria?

- The innovative nature of the project

- Relevance of the project to the theme

- Partnerships with research laboratories in the Nord-Pas de Calais region
