Loading the future 2013 Trophies: a prize list at the heart of innovation and competitiveness.
This year's theme of the third edition of the Loading the Future Images & Networks Awards is innovation and competitiveness. It rewards collaborative projects with innovative potential and strong competitiveness in the economic sector they target. Between augmented reality and e-health, the 2013 awards also gave pride of place to SMEs invested in R&D.
"More than ever, the 2013 Awards demonstrate the dynamism and innovation of our members and the entire community. The 3rd edition attracted even more entries and reveals the wealth of the economic and industrial breeding ground of Brittany and the Pays de la Loire region. » says Vincent Marcatté, Images et Réseaux President.
This year, Images et Réseaux wanted to change its awards, by creating three categories, Deloitte and In Extenso, which innovated by creating two new regional trophies outside the national ranking:
- The "Innovation" trophy: awarded to the project judged to be the most innovative, with important technological locks to be lifted.
- The "Competitiveness" trophy: awarded to the project whose market potential and current or projected economic spin-offs demonstrate a significant innovation economy.
- The "SME" trophy: awarded to the project carried by an SME
- The "Grand Prix" trophy: awarded to the project that most appealed to the jury both for its innovative character and its market potential.
DSP Valley, a Flemish cluster, and member of the jury, wanted to reward a project for its potential for international outreach by creating the "International" trophy category.
In addition to this, the "Open Odyssey" trophy was awarded on the fringes of the competition. This programme supports territories in the management of promising projects for the future, by linking the energies and intelligence of everyone (students, teachers, researchers, professionals, citizens).

4EVER: In the future, the images will be more voluminous, it is in this perspective that the 4EVER project was launched in June 2012. It contributes to the definition of standards at the international level by exploring at the same time ultra high definition, where everything remains to be defined, and HEVC, a new image coding standard.
"Once again this year, the Loading the future Trophies reveal highly innovative projects with strong potential in all their markets. We warmly congratulate them all, as well as all the projects in competition," adds Vincent Marcatté.
And Images et Réseaux is already giving the entire community a date to meet the 14 & 15 October 2014 for the fourth edition of the Loading the Future Trophies, which will be part of the Digital Opportunities event organized by Rennes Métropole in partnership with Quebec.
