FutuRIS 2013 Conference: summary

On the occasion of the release of the book  "FutuRIS 2013 - Research and Innovation in France".  Editions Odile Jacob, the National Association for Research and Technology organised a half-day conference on Thursday 19 December 2013 in Paris to provide food for thought on the National Research Strategy (SNR) enshrined in the law of 22 July 2013 on higher education and research.

After a presentation of the key messages of the FutuRIS 2013 book by Jacques Lesourne, Chairman of the FutuRIS steering committee, the debates on SNR were organized around two main questions:

- What for and how?
Moderated by Paul Lucchese, Director of FutuRIS, ANRT
With the interventions of : Denis Randet, Chief Executive Officer, ANRT, Philippe Baptiste, Head of Research and Innovation Strategy, DGRI/MESR, Philippe Larédo, Research Director, LATTS/ENPC and Professor, Manchester Business School/University of Manchester.

- With what overall coherence?
Moderated by Alain Bravo, General Delegate, Académie des Technologies
With the interventions of : Pascal Barthélemy, Deputy Managing Director, IFPEN, Jacques Bittoun, President, Université Paris-Sud, Alain Fuchs, President, CNRS, Vincent Charlet, Director, La Fabrique de l'industrie, and Jean-Luc Beylat, President, Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs France.
