Econocom is continuing its research into the development of Intelligent Solutions (Internet of Things) by creating a dedicated European R&D program in partnership with the ISMB (Istituto Superiore Mario Boella) Research Institute.
The Internet of Things, or the connection of intelligent objects, is defined, among other things, as a network of networks that allows, via standardized and unified electronic identification systems and mobile wireless devices, to directly and unambiguously identify digital entities and physical objects and thus to retrieve, store, transfer and process, without discontinuity between the physical and virtual worlds, the data relating to them. The fields of application are vast: from the interactive shop window to the digital pen and remote diagnosis.
The market for Intelligent Solutions is accelerating rapidly and will account for more than 20 billion connected objects by 2020. (Source GSMA). This will disrupt the technological infrastructures and Information Systems of companies.
Based in Turin (Italy), ISMB (Istituto Superiore Mario Boella) is specialized in the Information and Communication Technologies sector. A total of 150 researchers work daily on projects with a high innovation value, in close collaboration with companies belonging or not to the IT sector.
By setting up a European R&D program in partnership with an Applied Research Institute, the Econocom group is strengthening its development strategy around Intelligent Solutions in order to support its customers in anticipating this development which, according to forecasts, will be rapid over the next few years. Econocom already offers its customers global solutions for the integration, administration and financing of communicating and intelligent objects and associated infrastructures.
