Arts at the convent

Start

Until 15 November, a hundred or so artists will be taking over an unexpected space, the former convent of a religious community in Angers, for an unprecedented urban and ephemeral art event. Street art, sculpture, drawing, painting, land art, photography, video projection, installations... this collective movement promotes art in general, heritage and nature, offering the public a real artistic journey to explore, imagined as a soothing and dreamlike wandering between gardens and buildings.

An unoccupied place, in the heart of Angers in the Nazareth district. A five-hectare park surrounded by a stone wall, which houses the former convent of a religious community, which is due for demolition in the near future.
Before this demolition, the place was given a final facelift, thanks to the initiative of Art Project Partner. Once again, the association wishes to defy the codes of art by proposing an unusual collective exhibition in an unusual setting. Bought by a property developer, the entire site is in a future phase of reconstruction. This is an opportunity for the association to invest in the former convent, its chapel and its gardens to invite artists, collectives and craftsmen. To invest the entire site, occupied until recently by nuns, to make it a showcase where art flourishes. A secret place with rather neutral colours which becomes a living place, turned towards art, nature, emotion where one shares, contemplates, imagines, discovers?

An exhibition that arouses curiosity and invites exploration both by the number of artists solicited to invest the entire surface area of the site, and by the merit it has in making a normally private monument steeped in history accessible to the public. Street Art, Sculpture, Drawing, Painting, Land Art, Photography, Video Projection, Installations... this exhibition promotes art in general, heritage and nature by offering the public a real artistic journey to explore, imagined as a soothing and dreamlike stroll between gardens and buildings.

In 2005, after the Beaux-Arts d'Angers - TALM, Vidyakelie joined a style and plastic arts collective in Paris, she will develop Mario Faundez's artistic project for three years. This is followed by a break in the world of communication which will lead her to focus on her personal pictorial experiences. Her need to share, her quest for truth through the plastic arts will be the reason for her career as a communicator.
Today, at the age of 33, Vidya brings together her thoughts on the world, an academic style and a desire to let go. By letting her gesture be as close as possible to her sensitivity mixed with realism, she produces a polymorphic work that will try to guide the spectator towards an emotion or a reflection from Vanity to Humanity. On canvas, in the street, on paper and on video.
