CIGREF publishes a new report entitled: "Fundamentals of Cloud Computing, the viewpoint of large enterprises. "This summary document is the result of exchanges between CIGREF members on their understanding of Cloud Computing.
The fundamentals of the Cloud...
Cloud Computing is now a key element in the digital transformation of companies. However, it is not satisfactory that it can have multiple definitions, moreover, variable over time. This situation can lead to misunderstandings in exchanges with suppliers, delay the implementation of these solutions and possibly harm the image of companies.
... the point of view of Large User Companies
The aim of this new report is therefore to explain Cloud Computing from the point of view of large user companies and not from the market offerings of the IT ecosystem, starting with the fundamentals: how to qualify a Cloud? How to order the different types of Cloud?
A collection of good practices ...
Under the leadership of Gérard Russeil (Director of Chorégie), the CIGREF working group has thus revisited the fundamentals of Cloud Computing, so that they reflect the reality of user companies and not that of the IT ecosystem. Opinions and exchanges of experience have been rich within the working group. This summary document brings them together in a collection of advice and best practices, providing a set of points of attention for any company interested in Cloud Computing.
... at the service of the Digital Transformation of Businesses
"Facilitating dialogue and understanding between Cloud Computing players can only lift the brakes and encourage the deployment of these solutions. The proper implementation of these Cloud solutions in companies is a strong element of the digital transformation of companies. "explains Gérard Russeil.
This new report is complementary to the guide "Cloud Computing and Data Protection", published on 20 March 2013, which aims to facilitate dialogue between business departments and CIOs by explaining the reality of Cloud offerings and their limitations in terms of data protection.
