Biomim'expo 2019: see you on September 11th!

Start

Biomim'expo, the major annual gathering of actors and stakeholders in biomimicry and innovations inspired by life, returns for a 4th edition, on 11 September 2019 at the Paris City Hall, and on 22 October at the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie. The event has become the meeting place for all those seeking to innovate, by listening to the environment in order to respect it more, and listening to other disciplines in order to get off the beaten track. Our era needs reconnections, between Man and Nature of course, but also between our own spheres, between research and industry, between ecology and the economy, between large groups and start-ups, between biologists and engineers... these spheres need to talk to each other better, listen to each other and exchange ideas. Our sectoral, disciplinary and community "languages" are our new towers of Babel; they isolate us at a time when we need to reconnect, including to ourselves, in order to build and invent together.

Nature is proposing a profound paradigm shift, no longer considering it as a mere stock or constraint, but, beyond a sanctuary to be protected, a veritable laboratory of the world's most efficient technologies and an ecosystem model of resilience.

Biomim'expo, in coherence with its subject, proposes for this new 2019 edition a composite mixing conferences, round tables, debates, keynotes ... but also demonstration stands, workshops, products, projects, prototypes, models, animations ... to show those who do, and show what they do.

The programs

  • Day One: Wednesday, September 11th 2019 at the Paris City Hall
  • Day Two: Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie

Large Plenary - Exhibitors - Workshops - Artistic Exhibitions - Pedagogical Exhibitions - TV sets - Media area - Film screenings - Debate forum - Literary café - Speed dating - Bookstore ...

Researchers - teachers - industrialists - entrepreneurs - start-ups - explorers - philosophers - engineers - biologists - ecologists - ecologists - politicians - local elected officials - architects - sociologists - anthropologists - entomologists - futurists - students - citizens ... let's get out of our silos to meet nature as a model but also others to be co-creative and innovative by getting out of our thought patterns and creating cultural and social ecotones.

It is now the largest gathering of biomimicry, open to all audiences, actors and stakeholders.

No bio-inspiration is possible without preserved, protected, regenerated biodiversity. Conversely, through biomimicry, we can also rethink our relationship to ecosystems and try to develop regenerative approaches to not only protect but also repair and recreate conditions favourable to life: Biodiversity-Biomimicry-Climate will be the great triptych 2019. Because we must also get out of our silos and chapels to recreate symbiotic approaches, with mutual benefits, like the balances and collaborative strategies that underpin the resilience of living things.
