The S Stronger Exoskeleton: Towards the Enhanced Man?

Start

The first "general public" mechatronic exoskeleton Exhauss Model S "Stronger" will be on display exclusively at the congress / exhibition. PREVENTICA in Marseilles on June 17, 18 and 19.

Man is no longer content to just "fix" himself; he now seeks to "improve" himself.
It is only in recent years that the military and the medical profession have, for several million euros, seen soldiers of the future superhuman reinforced with exoskeletons for some of them; for others, exoskeletons that restore the ability to walk or lift objects to the motorically handicapped.

Stress exoskeletons are mechanical structures that double that of the human skeleton and give it physical capacities that it does not have or no longer has.

After having launched last year the world's first mechanical carrying exoskeleton, intended in particular for industrial and public works operators, EXHAUSS will present a preview of its new mechatronic system. Social security figures worldwide show that "hardworking workers" (40 million people) spend billions of euros on sick leave, medical treatment and surgery due to premature or accelerated wear and tear, fatigue, premature ageing, pain and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), etc., as a result of their work. of workers in the European Union suffered from MSDs in 2013).

The exoskeleton Model S facilitates the handling of any load and any tool weighing between 1 and 40 kg: its originality consists in electronically automating the adjustment of the quantity of assistance of the exobras, according to the loads carried and the phases of idle rest. In this way, the user's arms, rotators, cervical, back and lumbar muscles are only used to guide the loads and tools carried by the exobras.

In this way, this new exoskeleton prevents almost all Musculoskeletal Disorders and reduces the drudgery of work. Highly versatile, it is aimed at transport or logistics centre operators who have to handle parcels of various weights and sizes, as well as at workers specialising in metallurgy, the automobile industry or aeronautics, for example, as well as in precision trades such as surgery, where surgeons spend 10 hours at a time holding a scalpel in their hand, arms raised.
This innovation is based on a patent granted last January and will be available from mid-June 2014.
