Intended to reward biotechnological innovation (excluding healthcare), the Genopole Young Biotech Award offers a passport to the future by allowing the winner to set up in France's largest biocluster, and by offering him or her a first prize worth €100,000.
Project leaders have one month left to register and apply.
The purpose of the Biotechnology for the Environment, Agronomy and Industry Business Competition, organized by Genopole® at the Evry-Corbeil site, is to encourage, support and enhance the value of innovative projects and company start-ups in the field of environmental, agronomic and/or industrial biotechnology (excluding the medical sector).
Innovation is understood here as a new and inventive technology, process or service that must be economically applied.
And biotechnology is the use of knowledge of the biological and natural workings of living organisms to produce goods and services.
Applications must present a project for the creation of an enterprise or innovative activity of a young enterprise (date of creation less than 3 years). If it is a continuation of an existing innovative project, the applicant must explain as precisely as possible how hosting at Genopole® and obtaining support would support the innovative nature of its previous and current experiments.
The winner receives a prize worth €100,000 and joins the Genopole® biocluster.

This sum includes a €30,000 cash prize for the winner, in addition to support from Genopole Entreprises, six months' hosting at Genopole, a project assessment by EY, a market study, a "Creation" or "Development" legal package by Brunswick Law Firm, and an IP assessment by IP Trust.
The jury reserves the right to award one or two additional special prizes of €50,000 comprising a personalised support package valued at €30,000 and free hosting valued at €10,000, an expertise of the project carried out by EY, a "Creation" legal package or a "Development" legal package by Brunswick Law Firm, and an IP expertise carried out by IP Trust.
The competition started in June 2016. The deadline for submitting applications is October 3, 2016 at 4:00 pm, the electronic confirmation message shall be deemed authentic.
An "Entrepreneur's Journey" day in November at Genopole® will reward an initial selection of candidates by giving them the chance to present their project to professionals in the field of business creation and innovation (Bpifrance, Chimex, Brunswick, seed funds, crowdfunding platform, etc.).
A jury will select the 2016 winners, who will be announced at the awards ceremony on Tuesday 13 December from 5 to 8 p.m. at the BPCE (50 rue Pierre-Mendès-France, Paris 13e).
