On the occasion of its 35th anniversary, Cetim-Cermat, a centre associated with Cetim specialized in the field of expertise, measurements and tests, inaugurates its collaborative testing platform. With this platform, Cetim-Cermat offers companies the opportunity to assist in the development and running of their tests while having a dedicated space to continue working with an office, network connections etc. The Cetim-Cermat laboratory becomes an extension of theirs.
Cetim-Cermat's laboratories carry out 1,300 interventions on average each year, for about 500 companies, half of which are in Alsace-Lorraine-Franche Comté. In terms of testing, these companies will now be able to carry out combined vibration, temperature, pressure, flow, mechanical stress, etc. tests.
Accessible, with state-of-the-art equipment and know-how, the laboratory allows them to work as if they were in their own company while benefiting from the support and expertise of Cetim-Cermat's engineers and technicians. Thanks to a methodical support, Cetim-Cermat's teams accompany companies from the drafting of specifications to the design of specific tests.
The partnership that is created with the customer during this collaborative approach allows the federation of testing resources and skills. The potential is then multiplied tenfold and makes it possible to carry out tests that the customer alone would not be able to carry out internally. To do so, Cetim-Cermat is able to host test benches belonging to its customers and partners thanks to adapted logistics.

The project was financed to the tune of 83,000 euros by the Haut-Rhin General Council (total cost 325,000 euros) within the framework of the 2007-2013 State/Region Project Contract designed to boost Alsace's attractiveness and competitiveness by investing in research, innovation and higher education.
Cetim-Cermat is a Regional Centre for Innovation and Technological Transfer (CRITT) specialised in expertise, measurements and tests. It operates in fields as varied as metallic, polymer and composite materials (chemical analysis, failure analysis, mechanical tests, calculations, simulations) and the engineering sector (vibration and climatic tests, etc.).
About Cetim, Innovating in mechanics
At the crossroads of research and industry, Cetim, a technological institute labelled Carnot, is the French mechanical expertise centre. R&D tool of nearly 7000 mechanical companies, it employs 700 people, more than 2/3 of which are engineers and technicians, for 100 M€ of turnover. It is multiplying its action with a network of scientific and technical partners.
If Cetim ensures a strong presence as close as possible to its national customers, its industrial intervention capacities extend internationally, especially in the French-speaking regions.
Its action of piloting many innovative projects naturally makes it the federator of major industrial projects or multi-partner R&D projects in 5 main areas: design, simulation, testing - manufacturing processes and materials - mechatronics, control and measurement - sustainable development - management and support for SMEs.
As an R&D partner, alongside major specialized players, Cetim proposes a global and multidisciplinary offer to transform and implement scientific knowledge into applications for industry. www.cetim.fr
