Citizen energies, a plethora of initiatives in the territories

Des énergies citoyennes, un foisonnement d'initiatives dans les territoires, by Patrick Norynberg - Editions Yves Michel, October 2019 - 274 Pages

This book is a testimony on the emancipatory practices of collective intelligence which are sometimes numerous but little known.

Within the framework of innovative approaches and co-construction, Patrick Norynberg, already author of three books on citizen practices, presents concrete examples and an analysis to challenge institutions in order to act on the strategic choices to come in local authorities, right up to the State. He also seeks to contribute to the promotion of certain initiatives and to capitalize on remarkable, innovative and rewarding experiences for what they are and for the actors.

For what matters most to Patrick Norynberg is the power of the Us, with his experience working with citizens, elected officials and professionals in many cities. The ability that we, the people, have to move from the I at We in our heads, concretely, in action and on a daily basis.

For many years, he has been working to bring this process to life with local elected officials, institutional leaders, local authority professionals, citizens and their collectives, associations. All these actors who act in a professional or voluntary capacity and are militant to bring active citizenship to life, to build collective projects and to transform territories and neighbourhoods.

Patrick Norynberg is a tireless pollinator in testifying to emancipatory practices through citizen participation and proposing concrete avenues for action, contributing to the promotion of initiatives such as the Villages and Citizen Cities label. To show how many collective intelligence initiatives are numerous, to make links between all these initiatives, to conceptualize in order to challenge institutions and contribute to act on the future strategic choices of the State and institutions in terms of citizenship and democracy. Discover with him this democratic fermentation on the ground: inspiring!
