Jean-Louis Missika is Counsellor of Paris and Deputy Mayor of Paris, in charge of urban planning, architecture, Greater Paris projects, economic development and attractiveness.
He created and managed a consulting firm specializing in media and information and communication technologies. He taught the sociology of media from 1984 to 2011 at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris. He holds a chair in economics and management of the digital industry and new media at the CNAM.
He is also the author of numerous books and documentaries for television. He has served as managing director of BVA, deputy managing director of Sofres and editor-in-chief of the magazine Médiaspouvoirs.
Between 1988 and 1991, Jean Louis Missika was Director of the Information Service of Prime Minister Michel Rocard. He was also Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Iliad and a member of the Investment Committee of AXA Venture. From 2008 to 2014, Jean-Louis Missika was Deputy Mayor of Paris in charge of innovation, research and universities.
