Born from the meeting between Hervé Chandès, Managing Director of the Foundation, Fei Dawei, art critic and curator, and Gong Yan, Director of the Power Station of Art (PSA), a major cultural institution in China, Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art.A Beautiful Elsewhere is an invitation to travel: an exploration of the world, of geographies and of the imaginary, as the Foundation has led it since its creation in France in 1984, through its Parisian and international exhibitions. It shows the essence of the Foundation's Collection: unique works and strong universes from a rich and multidisciplinary program, commissions given to artists, a bias of openness to the world and to today's society.
