TIA: Territorial Innovation Accelerator

Start

Actors in the field of corporate support and major French groups are pooling their resources to bring innovative projects to fruition.

Initiated by VEOLIA ENVIRONNEMENT, ORANGE and RABOT DUTILLEUL, in partnership with NFID which runs the J'Innove network in Nord-Pas de Calais and in support of the Regional Innovation Strategy (SRI), the TIA approach in Nord-Pas de Calais has been designed to support the growth of innovative local companies. It thus contributes to the development of the economic fabric of the region, to the reinforcement of its attractiveness and its visibility in terms of innovation.

This approach is unique in France. It is the first time that the know-how of major groups has been pooled with that of players in the field of innovative business support in the regions.

Accelerating the innovation process to stay competitive

The TIA approach in Nord-Pas de Calais responds to three major issues:
1. The competitiveness of enterprises is closely linked to their capacity to innovate. However, the acceleration of the innovation process is leading most of them to rethink the way they innovate, in particular by developing "open" innovation.
2. For SMEs, access to certain markets remains difficult. Having the possibility of backing up large groups enables them to sustain their growth.
3. The public players, aware of the new economic challenges, aim to speed up contacts and thus develop the economic attractiveness of their territory.

At the beginning of 2013, the J'Innove network in Nord-Pas de Calais launched a first call for projects, "Smart building", in partnership with the initiators of the TIA approach. This call for projects focused on intelligent buildings. Partnership agreements with the companies Effigenie, Espaciel, Fred&Fred, Qarnot Computing, Stereograph, So Smartlab, Tactus and Webinage were thus initiated.
On the occasion of the Salon Créer, which is currently being held at the Lille Grand Palais, a second call for projects is being launched: "The city of tomorrow". It will deal with the following themes: alternative energies & smart grids, territorial organisation, citizen involvement, preservation of resources, quality of life and health, social equity, energy, management of urban flows, mobile commerce...
