New CITYzens: the media for new urban citizens

Start

The creation of New CITYzens was motivated by the refusal of the prevailing gloom and, above all, the desire to show that the economic, social and environmental issues we face must, above all, be considered as challenges to be met. These challenges are as many opportunities to invent new models, to have the audacity to launch them and to federate as many people as possible around these collective projects with a positive impact! This is what the New CITYzens association has done, with passion and enthusiasm, for social entrepreneurship.

The city, home to more than 50% of the world's population and place of all the challenges of the coming century, seemed to them to be the most propitious playground for discovering the wealth of positive initiatives carried by entrepreneurs of change. To achieve these objectives, they decided to meet those they called the new "city citizens" (the New CITYzens), those inhabitants who believe in it, who innovate and who provide concrete solutions to the many challenges of their city (precariousness, transport, housing, education, employment, green spaces...).

The mission of New Citi Zens is therefore to mobilize a large community of actors to promote the advent of more humane, sustainable and supportive cities. To do this, the team travels to the largest cities on the planet to discover these creative inhabitants who are constantly reinventing urban living together. Based on these discoveries brought back from all over the world, they design a multitude of tools and activities to encourage citizen involvement, imagine solutions for the city of tomorrow and make everyone, and in particular the younger generation, an actor of change for a more positive city.
