"What do you want to be when you grow up? » Whether at the age of 8 or 20, the answer is not always obvious... The students at AgroParisTech, a leading European school of engineers and managers in the field of living organisms and the environment, did not suspect the diversity of their elders' profiles...
This is why, for their year of gap year at AgroParisTech, two students have conceived a project: travelling the world to meet Alumni in positions of responsibility across Europe in order to discover and make them discover their profile. In this way, they wish to bring the academic and professional worlds closer together and illustrate the range of alumni careers to enhance the value of their degree.
The long-term goal? To set up a transferable project. Every year other AgroParisTech students will set off to discover new countries, new cultures and, above all, new graduates from the four corners of the world. This project is alive and it must stay that way!
Dn the continuity of Paris Saclay's missions, AgroParisTech wishes to illustrate the richness and diversity of their graduates' experiences, in France and abroad. To achieve this, the school wants to share and make the portraits of their alumni known not only to the students and graduates of the school but also to future students and graduates of the schools in the Paris Saclay network, companies, associations, etc. For them, the aim is to contribute to the international influence of the diploma and to bring the academic and professional worlds closer together. In September, Inès Talhouarne and Virginie Boutier set off backpacking for a six-month tour of Europe! A beautiful adventure full of human and cultural discoveries that they share through interviews and videos put online.
Graduates will bring these portraits to life by adding life experience, feelings and personal advice, while trying to respond to "...". What is the field of possibilities after studying at AgroParisTech" and "What are the roots of graduates, beyond their career paths, places and life choices? ».

AgroParisTech Alumni is the active and influential community of AgroParis which aims to support its members in all their personal, professional or societal achievements.

Ines Talhouarne, Co-Founder of AgroParisTech Beyond Borders Inès, a Landes girl at heart, has mastered the entire feria repertoire since she was very young and knows how to move in unknown lands, through chance encounters. Not insensitive, personally, to the beauty of the disorder, she also likes the rules of the collective game, bringing dynamism and creativity to the group. She has always loved the sea and travelling but has not yet found her sense of direction. One of the objectives of this trip could be to acquire it...
Virginie Boutier, Co-Founder of AgroParisTech Beyond Borders Accustomed to traveling since the age of three, Virginie, an adventurer at heart, is eager to discover new things through contact with different cultures. Sometimes driven by her impulsiveness, she also knows how to put her reactivity and sensitivity to the service of common projects in a thoughtful way. In rugby, at the heart of the scrum, she knows the strength of the team and likes to bring her commitment with sometimes a touch of nervousness. One of the objectives of this trip could be to gain serenity...
Pierre Sabatier, President of AgroParisTech Alumni, says that "A few years ago, on leaving the School, I initiated and piloted a project which consisted in producing a book of portraits of graduates in order to show the great richness of our backgrounds and personalities, to embody the term "Agro" - both so specific and so vast - and to encourage vocations. "Agro, la passion du Vivant" was born.
When Virginie Boutier and Inès Talhouarne came to me and offered me to support their initiative to travel across Europe to meet graduates and produce a series of video and written portraits of their careers, I didn't hesitate for a second to encourage them! AgroParisTech Alumni is very proud today to support this long-term project which will provide further proof of the diversity of our community and our ability to export our know-how. All my encouragement accompanies them in this human adventure. »
This experience reminds us of the Compagnonnage experience: learn, progress and pass on knowledge while asserting oneself as a human being.
