Commitment: the State launches "La France s'engage" with 15 initial initiatives

Start

François Hollande has launched "La France s'engage", a presidential label that highlights innovative and solidarity-based projects to awaken social and solidarity-based economy initiatives. To begin with, the State is going to support fifteen isolated, promising and socially beneficial projects to the tune of 50 million euros. These projects were presented on Tuesday 24 June.

While the association's commitment has been designated as the "great national cause" of 2014, this "grand chantier présidentiel aims to identify and support socially innovative initiatives to enable them to develop and scale up"explained François Hollande.

On this line of commitment, "La France s'engage" is a website created for the occasion. Under the leadership of MakeSense, it presents the first fifteen socially innovative initiatives and proposes to submit others.
The idea is indeed that after these first fifteen up'sens actions, about ten more follow every six months. So if you have a project, an action, try ... Three criteria are set: their innovative character, their potential for duplication or change of scale, and the rigorous evaluation of their results. On the evaluation, I remain sceptical as it is so difficult to measure the unquantifiable ...

I hope that the initiative will continue and I would especially like the State not to forget to commit itself to businesses of the future which are also promising, such as 3D printing (prostheses!), early-learning robots, assistant robots, the Internet of Things for smart cities, smart homes and health ... Because it will be difficult to continue to commit if we do not make the investments for the future!

Each of these projects will be more visible (media) and will be supported by the Youth Experimentation Fund, endowed with 50 million euros for the 2014-2017 period, including 10 million from the Total Foundation.
