Call for proposals from the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès

Start

The Fondation d'entreprise Hermès announces the theme of the fourth edition of the Prix Émile Hermès, an international design prize whose jury will be chaired by Matali Crasset.

Since its inception in 2007, the Prix Émile Hermès has been dedicated to supporting and promoting young talent whose forward-looking approach will accompany the evolution of our societies and lifestyles. For the fourth edition of this Prize, which is open to professional designers under 40 years of age from around the world, the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès has chosen a theme that allows reflection on a particular and universal activity that is fruitful for the senses as well as for the spirit: play.

Playing integrates the individual in his environment, his time, and appears as an essential activity of cultural and social construction of the self. In keeping with the themes of previous editions - "Lightness in everyday life", "Warming up, warming up, warming up" and "A time for oneself" - the theme of the new edition of the Prix Émile Hermès thus reflects, more than ever, the strong conviction that guides all the actions initiated or supported by the Foundation: Our actions create us.

Registration and submission of projects for the 2016 edition of the Prix Émile Hermès will be open from 1 September 2015 to 16 November 2015 at noon, Paris time.

The complete theme, rules and conditions for participating in the Prix Émile Hermès are available on the website: www.prixemilehermes.com
