Project City 2015: opening of calls for applications

Start

Two days of forum on 28 and 29 October 2015 for Project City 2015, the Forum on New Challenges and Needs of the City, in Lille, where 16 city projects will be previewed. The call for applications is launched today!

For the fourth time in 2015, Lille will host Project City, the forum on new challenges and needs of the city, an event dedicated to trends, innovations and new needs and challenges of the city, at a pivotal moment for decision-makers, actors and users of the city.
Internationally, we are witnessing real competition from territories with the development of new projects aimed at increasing their attractiveness - clients have to reinvent the city and change their model in terms of trade, housing, tertiary and cultural activities. Public space brings increasingly diverse expectations into play, and it is no longer possible to conceive of the city without talking about intelligent cities and sustainable cities.

The North European Project City Forum brings together investors, elected officials and technicians from local authorities, architects, engineers, town planners, landscape designers, managers of urban facilities and services and concerned citizens to exchange and debate on new urban strategies, the quality of the living environment and the needs of the city of tomorrow.

With more than 2000 visitors, more than 100 major national and international experts speaking at conferences, highlights and workshops, Project City is the Northern European meeting place for urban project stakeholders.
Project City invites you to participate as an active player in the highlights of these two days of forum.

One city, one project

The Highlight One City One Project presents 16 city projects, in operational or pre-operational phase.
Whether you are a designer, a public or private project owner, or an industrialist, a player in an innovative, atypical project and/or an urban strategy in line with tomorrow's challenges, take advantage of a unique forum to present your urban project at the heart of a reference event bringing together 2000 urban project professionals. Project City offers targeted communication before the event, during the two days of the forum and after the event. The selected projects will be published in the "Project Book", 2000 copies of which will be distributed. The call for projects is open. Applications must be sent before 22 May 2015.

The night of creativity

In this year 2015 of COP 21, the organizing committee has chosen as the general theme for its work in
co-creation: "A resilient and sustainable city in the face of the challenges and effects of climate change".
The principle of the "Night of Creativity" is to work in multidisciplinary, intergenerational teams, mobilizing "concerned citizens": students but also professionals from different sectors or disciplines working in the urban field, concerned citizens as well as elected officials. Proposing a topic for the "Night of Creativity 2015" means calling on the collective intelligence and creativity of 60 people, all of whom are "concerned citizens" by the challenges of the sustainable, creative and intelligent city.
Proposals for topics should be sent before 22 May 2015.

The Belfries of Creation

For its 4th edition, the Conseil de l'Ordre des Architectes du Nord-Pas-de-Calais and the CAUE du Nord et du Pas-de-Calais, the Maison de l'architecture et de la ville with the support of the Nord Pas de Calais Picardie regional association of the Fédération Française du Paysage and the Nord Pas de Calais Picardie Regional Association of Town Planners, the Catholic University of Louvain-LOCI, the DRAC, the DREAL, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Architecture et des Paysages de Lille, the magazines Le Moniteur and AMC, the Chronique du bâtiment Nord Pas de Calais are organising the Regional Cross-border Prize for Territories in Transformation and Imagined Futures.

The jury and the announcement of the winners will take place during the forum. This prize is open to the following categories Planning (town planning, landscape), Construction (new construction, rehabilitation extension) and Imagined Futures (Utopia and avant-garde). Applications are open until 22 May 2015.

Calls for applications for the three highlights are now open: Application forms are available on the website www.projectcity.fr Highlights" section.
