Pierre-Antoine Arrighi democratizes 3D printing

Start
Pierre-Antoine Arrighi democratizes 3D printing. This former student of MINES ParisTech founded the company Aniwaa in 2014 with his childhood friend Martin Lansard. These two 3D printing enthusiasts wanted to offer relevant knowledge on the sector, with the aim of helping users in their choice of 3D printers and 3-D scanners. With a message: "Be resilient and believe in yourself".

MINES ParisTech is a major player in innovation. Support for entrepreneurship and commitment to open innovation are strategic subjects for MINES ParisTech.
Support for business creation, coordinated by the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cluster (POLLEN), coupled with the training of engineering students via the "innovation and entrepreneurship" option, has led to the creation of some forty companies in 20 years, including about twenty in the last five years. In its desire to bring innovations and inventions to life, MINES ParisTech also encourages the creation of "spin-offs".
To reflect this dynamic, MINES ParisTech introduces you to its talented entrepreneurs. Today, meet Pierre-Antoine Arrighi, co-founder of MINES ParisTech.Aniwaa.

These two 3D printing enthusiasts wanted to offer relevant knowledge on the sector, with the aim of helping users in their choice of 3D printers and 3D scanners. Today, Aniwaa is one of the reference sites for 3D printing worldwide, thanks to the construction of a reliable and exhaustive knowledge base, but also by relying on tests and comparison tools that are unique in the industry.

Three questions to Pierre-Antoine, Alumni MINES ParisTech Promotion 2014 and co-founder of the startup Aniwaa

What has the MINES ParisTech training brought to you in your adventure as an entrepreneur?

AAP MINES ParisTech provided me with an analytical capacity, rigour and organisation that proved to be essential and decisive for the rest of my career. From my point of view, being an entrepreneur means mastering the ability to articulate one's skills in a holistic approach. MINES ParisTech has trained me to make the most of my knowledge to move towards this goal. The School gave me an opening onto the world and the desire to be an entrepreneur. The creation of Aniwaa is the direct consequence of this. The School's network has also been very useful for me to find opportunities, to exchange with professionals, and to benefit from their advice, which is always very enriching.

What are Aniwaa's development prospects?

AAP : The company has just completed its first fund raising with SADIF, an investment fund specializing in digital innovations. This marks an important step for us, which will enable us to accelerate our growth in order to expand our business beyond the 3D printing sector. Our objective is to build a platform for comparing technological products covering different high-potential areas (virtual reality, UAVs, etc.).

What would be your advice for a young entrepreneur?

AAP I think, above all, you have to cultivate your ability to be resilient in order to embark on the adventure of entrepreneurship with confidence. Then, you have to believe in yourself, and know how to take things in perspective and philosophically. Entrepreneurial life is made up of ups and downs; knowing how to adapt to the situation is essential to develop a business in a sustainable manner. Failures allow you to learn and successes should be celebrated!
