Cécile Renouard was the guest of the last conference of the season at the Université Populaire de la Mairie in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris. It was an opportunity to meet a passionate woman with a singularly contagious enthusiasm.
Cécile Renouard is Professor of Social and Political Philosophy at the Centre Sèvres, she teaches at the Essec and the Ecole des Mines de Paris. She directs the research program CODEV ESSEC's "Enterprise and Development" programme. She is also a religious of the Assumption. She is a true missionary who travels the planet, bearing the good word of the transformations necessary in our social practices to change the world.
With Gaël Giraud and others, in the wake of Nobel Prize winner Amartya Sen, she built within her research program the "relational capacity indicator". This is designed to measure the quality of social ties and to focus on relational anthropology. Her work underlines the importance of the contribution of companies to social and ecological ties; in this respect, she advises major groups such as Danone and Total.
The main idea behind it is to make social cohesion the goal of activity and not just social capital for growth.
