Mael Le Mée show

Maël Le Mée and his "Cockpit" at the Gaité Lyrique

Start
As part of the theatre cycleMicroformsthe Gaîté Lyrique presents Cockpit by Mael Le Mée - Cie Dorsa Barlow. A show where Mael Le Mée tells her life story in a kind of multimedia conference-performance, with bodyhacking, queer, biotechnologies, self-(science)fiction and participatory neuromuscular electrostimulation. A whole programme ... to discover on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 April.

I'm going to tell you about my life in the same way I've managed it up to now: by artistic commissions interposed. It will be a kind of multimedia conference-performance, the countdown in my existential cockpit until 1977, to see how the controls are gradually taken over, and to realize that this gesture is in fact as much the responsibility of the pilot as of the server... We will then pass from intimate gravity to interstellar weightlessness, by joining the Voyager 1 probe, at the confines of the solar system, by neuromuscular and participatory electrostimulation.
Cockpit thus includes a new biomedia, bodyhacking, queer, biotechnologies, trans/posthumanistic echoes, auto(science)fiction, depressurization, sublimation, family relics, synthetic ghosts, industrial writing, domestic surgery and original catastrophe.
But Cockpit being an autobiography commissioned by the Gaîté Lyrique, it is the hope of tomorrow that sings. »

Mael Le Mée explores the contemporary manufacture of bodies and their possible future writings. With the idea of taking the controls of the Cockpit and sharing them, he is inspired by various skills, such as those of the hijacker, the SM dungeon barman and the driving instructor.
