68 years after the Schuman declaration made in the Salon de l'Horloge, the Quai d'Orsay hosted the JANUS label award ceremony of the French Institute of Design on 17 December 2018, which celebrated its 65th anniversary this year. 76 projects were awarded this label of excellence, which recognises the "5E's".

On November 22, 2016, the 62nd JANUS label award ceremony of the French Institute of Design was held. 64 companies were awarded this label, which recognizes the "5Es": Economy, Ergonomics, Aesthetics, Ethics and Emotion, under the chairmanship and in the presence of Matthias Fekl, Secretary of State in charge of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The European programme "Aluminium for Future Generations", launched by aluminium producers to engage in dialogue with civil society on the themes of innovation and sustainable development, is organising a design competition for the tenth consecutive year for art, design and technology schools.

Since 1953 and throughout the year, Janus jury members have been rewarding excellence through collaborative approaches to design innovation. The Janus is the embodiment of the credo "Living better together" and rewards companies that choose to make a lasting contribution to design.

Until the end of June 2013, the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Paris has hosted an invited exhibition "Packaging that changes our lives!" at the initiative of the French Institute of Design. This is not an event-driven operation, even less a commercial one, but a beautiful tribute to the history of mankind and its innovations.
